I know you want to sew your own Christmas gifts this year but you are worried you won’t get them finished in time! Maybe you’ve already spent hours scouring youtube for patterns and inspiration only to end up overwhelmed and demotivated. The Christmas Sewing Club is here to save you! With patterns, community and support you’ll have your presents ready in plenty of time and be happily wrapping them, placing them under the tree and sitting back with your glass of mulled wine excited to see your loved ones reactions to their gifts!

Hi, I’m Helen, Founder and Sewing Teacher a Badger and Bobbins and I know the feeling well! The hot sweats, the long nights, that last minute dash to Boots for a 3 for 2 offer whilst your homemade Christmas gifts sit unfinished in a pile in the corner! But it doesn’t have to be like that! I’ve set up The Christmas Sewing Club to put the joy back into sewing gifts. The 10 week membership starts on the 7th October and is designed to give inspiration, support and community. We can get our Christmas presents made, have fun and make like-minded friends whilst doing it! By starting early and having weekly live check-ins where you can ask questions, see live demonstrations and get tips and tricks to help you with your sewing we’ll stay on-track together.

What’s Inside the membership…

Included in the membership are four projects which are the perfect makes for Christmas presents!

One new project will be released each week for the first 4 weeks of the 10 week membership so that we can work on it together and discuss progress in our weekly live Community Session on Zoom!

They all include the pattern or cutting instructions, a step by step PDF for sewing the project and a video of me sewing the project and taking you through the steps.

The projects are easy to sew and suitable for beginners - perfect if this is your first time making your gifts! Each project can be altered or personalised to suit the person you are giving it to.

In our weekly live community session you can ask questions / request live demonstrations and get support with your sewing from me.

Once all the projects are released (There will be 2 bonus projects in week’s 5 and 6!) we can spend our time making our presents and can use our community sessions to discuss how we are personalising our gifts and keeping ourselves accountable and on track for finishing our presents on time! Sewing during our community sessions is very much encouraged!

We will also have a private facebook group where we can share our progress and get to know each other!

We can do this together!

The Projects:

Week 1: Tablet Stand

I made one of these for every member of my family last year and they went down a storm! Whether you have a phone, kindle or ipad this handy little stand is a game changer! They are quick to make and are great for using up fabric scraps or remnants.

Week 2: Pencil or Craft Roll

The thing I love most about thhis project is, once you’ve got the technique for putting the roll together down, it can be adapted so easily for the person you are gifting it to! Got a mum that loves knitting - just change the dimensions and it’s a handy roll for her knitting needles! Have a brother that paints? Perfect for organising his paint brushes. There are so many possibilities with this one pattern!

Week 3: Quilted Tablet Case

This is one of my favourite projects! Again so easily adaptable to the recipients needs just by changing the dimensions it can fit an ipad, kindle or even a leap pad! (I’m hoping they are still a thing or I may be showing my age!). My dad won’t be reading this so I’m safe to say this is what he’s getting for Christmas this year!

Week 4: Cushion cover with a handle and book pocket

At first glance this definitely looks like the perfect gift for a child - I mean what child wouldn’t want this to store their favourite book in or to take on a sleepover with their beloved stuffed toy and a pair of PJs? But with a couple of tweaks and a slightly more denure fabric they are the perfect answer to those lost remote controls - the perfect gift for the household with 40 remotes who never know where any of them are! (or is that just me?)
